Prefer texting? Text Southern Mold at 334-610-7702 — you can send photos of what you are seeing.

Chasing a musty smell you cannot find? Text us photos of the room and any staining, and tell us when the odor is strongest.
Photos help us understand the situation and decide the appropriate next step — they are not a diagnosis or a measure of how far a problem extends.
What indoor air quality testing covers
Testing can help investigate a suspected mold problem or another indoor environmental concern using appropriate air and/or surface sampling and laboratory analysis. Our work is focused on mold and moisture: sampling, humidity and temperature readings, HVAC and ventilation assessment, and a look at how the building is being conditioned and used. Sampling is paired with an inspection, because a number without context rarely answers a homeowner's actual question.
Laboratory samples are $100 each. Testing describes the building — it does not diagnose the cause of medical symptoms, and we do not promise "healthier air".
Common reasons people ask for it
A persistent odor with no visible source. A room that always feels damp. A building where occupants keep raising concerns. A property being purchased where the buyer wants a baseline. A completed remediation someone wants documented. In each case, testing is chosen because it will answer something specific.
Humidity is usually the story
Across North Florida, South Georgia and Southeast Alabama, elevated indoor humidity is a common finding. An oversized air conditioner that cools quickly without running long enough to dehumidify, a crawl space venting damp air into the house, or a building left unconditioned between occupants can all raise indoor moisture to levels where finishes and furnishings support growth.
What we will not do
We do not make medical claims or tell you how a building may affect your health. We report what the inspection and sampling found about the property and what can be done about the moisture conditions we identify.
Indoor air quality questions
What does indoor air quality testing tell me?
Mold-related air sampling gives you information about what was present in the sampled air at the time of collection, usually compared against an outdoor control sample. It is one input into understanding a building, not a verdict on its own.
Do you interpret results for health effects?
No. We report and explain what the sampling and inspection found about the building. Questions about health belong with a medical professional.
Is testing useful after remediation?
Post-remediation sampling is often used to document the condition of the work area after the project. Whether it is worthwhile depends on the scope of the original problem.
